Blower cam selection (stock motor)
Blower cam selection (stock motor)
Im going to be doing a cam swap when i install the blower so i went ahead and got a cc305 cam, beehive springs and 1.5 magnum rockers. I got the cam because thats what summit and comp cams suggested for a blower. I want something with a descent lope or at least a noticeable idle. I hear people say that this is a very mild cam and doesnt have much of an idle. This car is not a daily driver, the rest of the engine is stock and i dont plan to touch the heads for a while so was this a good cam choice for me? I know this question was asked just recently but that member had a built stroker motor, and i couldnt find a definete answer when i did a search. This is an M6 car with long tubes, loudmouth and 4.10s.
The cc305 is similiar to a LT1 Hotcam from what I've heard. The 305 is not the best choice for a blower cam. The one I have for sale in the FOR SALE section is the cam I had for my original setup if you want to look at the specs, and is a very good cam. Your stock heads wont take advantage of it, but it would be a good choice. Also 1.6 RR's would help instead of 1.5's. Right now the cam is spoken for, but should that fall through I'll let you know. It definately has a nice sound! You wouldn't be disappointed.
