ATI or Vortech. Please Help me Decide

I presently have the mods listed in my sig. I plan to do a 383 build this winter and go blown. There is a local guy with an ATI P1-SC and 3 core intercooler for sale for $2500. The kit has less than 2k miles. What are the pros and cons of Vortech vs ATI? I am thinking the used ATI would be a good deal for $2500.

Thanks,

Loren

Theres been lot of debates on this topic in the past . Just do a search on vortech vs. ati . I have the vortech T-trim and not had a problem running 13psi . Over all there the two best out there so neither one is a bad choice .

$2500 is a good deal! Id go with the ATI personally, but thats just me. I like the idea of the SC having its own seperate oil supply, and the air to air intercoolers are more effient than the vortech water aftercoolers. The vorttech seems like too much work, and too much to go wrong. In my opinion. And 2500, you cant beat that with a stick.

I think if you are going with a 383 your best bet would be to stick with a D1SC.

I AGREE with IDOXLR8.

if your building a 383 you want a bigger blower. i had a p600b on my 383. i only saw 10pds of boost with a 15pd pulley because of the cubic inches. i still got 530/530to the rear but the motor can handle alot more so i bought the d1x.

by the bigger blower now and you save $ and time in the long run.

Believe me I went through the step and found out the expensive way. I started out with a P600b on my 383, then I went with a D1SC and now I am at an F1. Boost is addicting

I agree with the others on the bigger blower. If you buy new, its not much extra for the D instead of the P, and theres even bigger if you want it. However, 2500 is still a great deal on a P1sc.

There were a lot of problems with ATI blowers a few years back, but they seem good lately. Vortech's blowers have always been rock solid. I got yeoman service from my S-trim for 5 years but went with an F1 when it was time to upgrade. So I like 'em both.

That's a good deal on the P1-SC, but as others have said, be sure it's big enough for your needs. That's why I went F1, didn't want to be "stuck" at the T-trim or D1 level.
