Re: Anyone else have their intake elbow blow off?
On my car, just the tube with the bypass valve popped off once, causing my car to throw a code and run really rich. Quick pop of the hood, and I was back in business, but I'll admit it scared the **** out of me at first.

Really? 388 stroker, ProCharger F1 (22 psi), using worm clamps
There are two main reasons you don't have this problem.
1. You don't have an lt1 throttle body your clamp is able to provide clamping force on almost 100% of of your TB. The lt1 throttle body is a different animal and a clamp can only provide true clamping force on about 30%.
2.Your piping does not make a 90-degree turn just before entering the throttle body. The turns create a good bit of force that actually tries ripping the pipe off the throttle body.
That is assuming the picture is of your engine compartment.

Re: Anyone else have their intake elbow blow off?
You all might want to try some Hair Spray before you go and try to make a bracket its worth a shot. A 3dollar can did it for me 17-18#s on a regular style clamps. It used to blow all kinds off connections off on my twin set up till one day i took every connection apart sprayed it with Hair Spray and reconected back up. Hair spray works like glue, so whenever you have to take connections back apart it gives you a little fight.

Re: Anyone else have their intake elbow blow off?
"Sorry... I think 22 psi throws your "logic" right out the window"
It’s obvious you need a physics lesson!
Hold three fingers out parallel to each other and wrap a rubber band around them until it gets a little tight. Now pull on the top or the bottom not very tight is it now pull on the sides that’s pretty damn tight isn’t it Hmmm. Now take one finger and wrap a rubber band around it until it’s tight pull on it anywhere Hmm it’s tight no matter where you pull it. That is the difference! Now I would suggest you take the rubber band off your finger as it will cut off the blood flow
For the second lesson take a straw and blow through it ok air in one side and out the other Hmmm now bend that straw and blow through it wow what is happening.
The 22 psi has little to do with it your setup does not have the same piping inefficiencies as most of ours. By the way I also run 22psi I would give you a cookie but I just ate it
I’m just trying to help people what are you doing in this thread?

One of these cars that I built ran a 9.54 and the tube never came off during the run.
I am trying to help people as well. I am just showing them that worm clamps can work.
