Anybody using Fast Engine Management?
Anybody using Fast Engine Management?

This system is supposed to be good for Forced Induction due to 1-5bar maps and wide band O2. Anybody have any input? Price? Ease of tuning? Harness?

Re: Anybody using Fast Engine Management?
I used the FAST system in my GN for years. It was not the new (XP system) and had no problem with it. What was nice is you could set the fuel map up to change with boost levels. The Buick ECM did not have the NOS option. It was easy to play with. The Big Stuff 3 is more user friendly since it has a auto learn in the system so the program will adjust as you tune. The new FAST system may do it but I have not had the chance to play with one myself.
What is very nice about both systems is you can customize the system for a given set up and if you change something in the drive train you can tune the ECM for the change.
Both systems are nice and after a learning curve are not hard to tune. I would suggest you buy one from someone close by so you can get help if needed. The last I looked at price and the options the Big Stuff 3 was cheaper than the FAST system with the same options
I hope that helps

Great, thanks for the reply's. I was beginning to think nobody used these. I guess the price is an obstacle. I'm saving my money for one.
Re: Anybody using Fast Engine Management?
I've got the FAST XFI system in my Trans Am. I'm still N/A but have the dual stage dry nitrous system here ready to go in over the winter (once I get the new axle that is).
The FAST XFI took me about four hours to wire in, most of which was creating myself a nice solenoid harness for electric fan, fuel pump, and two solenoids for nitrous control. As for tuning, I did it all on the street by using the laptop and their logging capabilities with the wide band. The logging portion is pretty much identical to the old system, but its functional. I now have a 13.0:1 AFR all across the band at WOT, and at cruise, it stays around 14.2 to 15.5:1. So far, driveability is great. The flat spots from my old Accel Gen 6 are gone. The car runs good cold, and doesnt act cold blooded at all. Idle is nice. The amount of time I spent going from NO tune to my existing tune was about 100 miles over the course of three days.'
Very easy system to get going, with some incredible capabilities. It's pretty advanced. For a review, check out this link:

I'll be attending the M10 event on Saturday. Before installation the car made a best of 396 RWHP and turned 113 MPH in the quarter mile. Lets see what a few thousand miles of break-in and a new ECM do in terms of power. I'll follow up on Monday with the results.
