Anybody with a Procharger/Vortech have any regrets?

Does anybody who's got a procharger, Vortech, Paxton, etc...pretty much any centrifugal...wish they had done something else instead? Be it, a turbo, or bolt ons, or...whatever, Positive displacement...w/e.

I'm curious whether or not any of you are simply "satisfied".

I am disappointed with what I got out of a 5psi Procharger kit, but the car is fast, and I will build motor and up boost in the future....

I also think maybe C5 would have been nice.....

HOWEVER, the first time you pull into a cruise in and you get see the blower, it is all good!

Yep I was disappointed with my Procharger P1SC setup. Intercooler was too restrictive. Supercharger intake would collapse at high boost. MAF was on the vacuum side instead of the pressure side of the blower. Bypass valve leaked. Tensioner would wear out after about a year. And lets be honest there is no way a P1SC would ever make their advertised claims of 800hp on an LT1.

Don't get me wrong procharger makes great blowers. But their bolt on kits leave alot to be desired. If I did it all over again I would buy prochargers F1A, brackets and pulleys and fabricate the rest myself. Oh wait I did do it all over.

Dang guys, you are making me leary about the P1-SC HO kit I am going to buy. I'm getting it really cheap so I guess if I have to upgrade anything I can go ahead and do it.

My only POSSIBLE regret is that I probably should have gone with an F1A instead of my D1SC, since my car would be setup for the extra power the F1A would have given me for the very little money in retrospect it would have cost me to upgrade the D1SC to a F1A.

Being that said, I actually can get traction in 1st gear with cold Nitto DR's with my 614 RWHP, and if I had the added power the F1A would give me, my car would be all over the place, so while part of me wants more power, the majority of me is very content with everything as it is.

I'm disappointed I didn't go blower earlier. It would've saved me from a lot of vehicular *** whoopins!!!

Seriously, I couldn't be happier with my S-trim at 15 lbs of boost. I am beginning to piece together my next motor which will have some ported AFR 220's and a Vortech ysi trim. Be careful. Power is an addiction!

I was happier then a pig in poopies when i got my s-trim. Then happier when i sprayed it on the boost. My only regret was not putting it on a built motor 1st. Not that i trashed it, but i spun a rod bearing during that time. Then i forged it and went to a 383. Then threw more boost at it. Then was even happier when i upgraded to a T-trim. Then more happy with meth injection. Then even happier now with a FMIC. It's now a killer street car and just as killer on the track. So if i had to do it all over again, i'd forge and stroke the engine, buy the T-trim 1st and put a FMIC on at the same time along with the meth injection, hard 4" intake pipe and big filter, twin in tank fuel pumps and have fun.

So all the talk about "no low-end power" in centrifugals...is irrelevant? That was the subtle response I was looking for

No problems with low end torque here. Or high end power.

About to have mine done, first blower car that I have ever owned. I did not buy the kit b/c I have witnessed people have bad things to say about different parts so I just pieced it together myself.
I bought the D1SC headunit, SDCE tensioner setup with ATI bracket (stops belt slippage), 31X12X4 FMIC, Custom andodized red aluminum 3.2BP and a SDCE setup 7.625 Crank pulley mated to a ATI superdamper, Vortech Mondo bypass with Aluminum flange, 3 and 4 inch Aluminum elbows (all the tubing may weigh 3-4lbs if that) a few T-bolt clamps (most tubing will just be tig welded). I believe thats about it for the charger stuff. I believe it ended up costing me about the same but the kit above will smoke the ATI kit in effeciency.

only regret not going bigger the first time around like others. piecing a kit together is a good idea unless you can find a good complete setup for sale that already has all the good stuff you will need. good luck
