Another half baked FI idea

Once again, this is border line lounge material, but...
Would it be pobbile to rig up am "on/off" turbo system by using a system electric cutouts that would could open and close to either route air through a turbo system or bypass the whole thing and run na?

Yes. Almost anything is possible.

sure you could...but why? It isn't like a turbo hurts you when you aren't under hard acceleration.

You'd have to do something for tuning on the fly too wouldn't you?

I also fail to understand why anyone would want to...but the thoughts/discussion is interesting.

Not to mention your injectors/timing would be setup for when the car was under boost. It would run like crappy rich unless you had that toggle switch change the tune at the same time.

If you had an fmu setup, it would be a little closer on and off boost. Timing control would take care of ignition.

I still don't see the point though.

If you want an on/off switch, put the hose to it instead of a turbo.
