advance or retard (cam install for turbo)

How should I have the cam installed in my new engine?
It is a 3.4 and a Crane grind # H-272-2.
I think I can go about + or - 3* at a time.
I will be driving it around (moving state to state) for a very short time before the turbo goes on so it needs to work ok N/A for a little while.

Since we aren't getting much action on this topic here on Advanced Tech, let's try moving it to Forced Induction....

Well, my initial thought is that that cam isn’t really great for a turbo. You’ll really want less exhaust duration and more LSA (unless you’re planning on turning some real RPM’s with the engine then you might want more intake duration and more LSA). If you insist on using it I’d try retarding it and it might spool better and exhibit better low/midrange characteristics (yea, I know that this goes against traditional NA thought, but what it will do is open the intake valve later resulting in less pressure in the chamber allowing for more consistent filling under boost).

The larger your turbine/exhaust side on the turbo the better this cam will work.

Have a custom cam ground and sell it yours on ebay or swap meet. The reason for the less exhaust and wider lsa as ws6 ta was saying it reduces the overlap of the intake and exhaust. This stops reversion of the exhaust because of the backpressure from the turbo. The reversion would kill your power and youd be pumping exhaust.
