396 compression

what would be an ideal compression to run for a 396 stroker. I wanna run 10lbs of boost what would be a good compression ratio? I wana be able to run on 93octan

While the cam will have an impact on optimum CR, I'd say ~8.5:1 to run with 93 and boost. My setup for this year is ~7.8:1, but I am running more boost.

You don't need copper, in fact, you don't want it. It really is a race car gasket, as far as I am concerned due to a tendency to seep (leak). Most people do fine with the FelPro #1074. I used the FP for four years with no problkems. I am going to try the Cometic this year, but a FelPro gasket is fine and less $$$.

Why so low on the compression if hes only running 10psi of boost. Wouldnt he be ok with say 9.2:1 running 93pump

I think Rich is giving him a little room for more boost in case he wants to throw the bigger pulley on there.
