Will bead blasting remove Jet Hot coating?

I want to weld up my 3 piece y-pipe but I am told you can NOT weld on top of Jet Hot coating.

If I glass bead blast the areas where I want to weld, will the weld take?

Yes, your removing the coating
A torch will also take it off . Seen a few lean motors
blister it off real fast on startup!!
