Question Magnaflow Opinions?

I need some opinions on Magnaflow catback for a 94 LT1. Fitment, performance gains, etc. Sound clips of an LT1 would greatly help also. Thanks in advance.

It is pretty mellow at the low end. Once you mash the pedal, it comes to life though. The fitment is really good and the stainless steel construction allows it to last a long time.

had it on my minor bolt on LT1 w/ stock manifolds and cats.

enjoyed the mellow idle, and really liked the roar at WOT

bought it from a buddy who had it for 3 yrs, then i used it for 5yrs...still looked 95% brand new (just few small rust spots, and minor discoloration from heat).

he dynoed it on a similar modded car to mine, only gained 3hp with a cutout wide open...so it flows very well.

I have a 93 LT1 with shorty headers, no cats and with cats ive tried. I didnt like the way it sounded on mine really mellow and even when i mash the pedal sounds like a V6 with a muffler on it. Sounds deep but not that V8 rumble atleast for me, fitment is good and stainless steel good quality. For what i paid for it brand new 250.00 free shipping bought it a while back on ebay, it was worth it since now i run exhuast cut out open i dont care how the muffler sounds now lol.

Is the entire exhaust stainless, ie. tubing etc.? Does this differ from other exhausts that are advertised as stainless, or are exhausts advertised as stainless always 100% stainless?

I have magnaflow on my 97 z28. It's got a quiet idle, but roars at WOT. Not nearly as loud as the cutout, but it's loud enough to turn heads.

I had the magnaflow on my 94 and it was a great bargain. I think I picked it up on a GP for less than $300.00 and it was a very quick bolt-up and go operation. Awesome sound for the LT1.

For the price of having a stainless steel exhaust, you cannot beat it. It is tame at idle( still louder than stock ) and really roars at WOT.

I have magnaflow on my '86. It sounds great and I love it. I have heard the same kit on an LT1 before, and it sounds almost the same as mine ( a little louder tho).

only problem i had with my magnaflow was that the tips were offset towards the driver side.

shop had to really tweek them to get em even.

i think the tubing is aluminized, but the mufflers and tips are stainless. after 6yrs, my tips were still 98% mint
