A TD question!

Been reading a lot, but still lots of questions too. I'm thinking Hooker LTs with Pypes MiniCats and TSP TDs with Moroso Spiral Flow mufflers but...
My questions are does the TSP TD system run out the back or dump at the axles? I really want to have it go all the way back if possible. Spiral Flow or Bullets?

I want TDs... as do a lot of people, but it seems no one company out there has really made it easy to do. Most people seem to use TSP but I'm pretty sure it dumps at the axles...which I'm not a fan of.

It is however a cheap and performance proven setup. Bassani makes one that goes all the way out the back...I think. But info on it is nearly non existent, even in their own catalog or site. I'm at a loss with that one as to weather or not you can run LTs (Bassani only makes shorties for LS1 Maro, potential mating probs?) and Cats with it, and it is more expensive. Also bassani's site is confusing, and they don't even list the TD system for a 98-02 LS1, only Y Pipe(single) setups, but yet TDs are in their catalog(X-over/under axle Dual Split out back) and absolutely no pics.

Any help sorting this mess out would be greatly appreciated. Basically looking for a TD system with LTs and Cats that does NOT dump at the axles.

start asking around to local exhaust shops

take lots of pictures with you, there is a good FAQ section on LS1tech with a lot of pictures you could print off to take with you

the TSP dumps at the axle.

my TD's dump at the axle, they have some ebay cats, moroso spiral flows, and an H pipe. sounds great. best LT1 sound IMO.

but to run it out the back, you should probably get a panhard rod relocation bracket to give room over the axle for two pipes to go through.

but like i said, check LS1tech under the genIII external engine section for a bunch of pics of everyone's true dual setup. that should be a good start for ya

I believe the bassani is almost like the SLP 20TL except for the fact that it's a true dual system. the two exhaust pipes run close together, however the kit comes with a tailpipe adapter in which you can change it to have tailpipes on driver & passenger.

Only reason why I didn't buy it is for the fact that it would create header mating problems, best bet is to just get a TD system custom fabricated by a well known exhaust shop in your area, tell them how you want it. You'll be a lot happier, might even be cheaper than the bassani system.
