What happened to the "Signature" I set up for you? Makes it hard to answer question that may be affected by the year of the car?

Sometimes posting from a phone prevents the signature from appending to the post. If that's what is happening, you need to start posting basic info about your car in the first post in EVERY thread.

Re: Please help dtc code 32 egr code

I have not changed anything from my account and was not aware about phones causing signature to not appear, so I will post car info moving foward, as not to cause confusion. The car is a 1995 camaro z28 lt1, and I am curious as if it maybe remove from my car however trying to find photos of it in the engine bay, and shoebox site keeps crashing on me and some of the other pics I have seen still has me guessing, the car was running perfectly fine when it ses light came on, which makes me think previous owner may have removed it as they did pretty much every basic mod on car it seems, that being said by reading on here I have seen it maybe needs to be edited out of my pcm however didn' see on how that can be done. I will admit my original post was done hastily, in the future I will put a better description in post, i had thought the egr valve was something else and did cause a great deal of panic for a moment, and i also understand if it is deleted and not done right could cause a major vacuum leak. The light came on when I was just driving around town, under 50 slow driving, and after I came home and scanned it and I do have the file, when I turned the car off and back on, the light was off and stayed off, for another 45 min of driving.

Your signature was working right after I set it up.

From Shoebox:

Why do you want to delete the EGR system? Doesn't hurt performance. Just reduces pollution when cylinder temperatures are likely get too high. That in turn, reduces the probability of detonation (knock) when lugging the engine at low RPM.

If you delete the solenoid it will set a code (DTC 27). That can be elimiated by substituting a resistor for the solenoid. DTC 32 is a bigger problem. You have to get the EGR flowing again. Or you have to get both codes programmed out of the PCM.

Make sure the pintle on the EGR valve isn’t carboned up. Make sure vacuum opens the EGR valve. Make sure neither of the vacuum lines is leaking. Make sure there is 12 volts at the solenoid connector with the key on. Make sure the solenoid opens when the gray wire is grounded. Make sure the corrugated exhaust feed pipe is not cracked or somehow leaking.

DTC 32 can sometimes be due to a very low back-pressure in the exhaust system.
