Code 32 - EGR recirculation....WTF I have EGR bypass?!
My EGR is bypassed, and for some reason this code came up the other day...I turned off car, turned back on 30 min later, and SES light came back on for like 5 seconds, and then turned off. Hasnt been on since....Makes no sense to me?
My opti is going and I need to replace that....but I dont see how that could affect it? Help plz.

By "bypassed" do you mean you have it blocked? The diagnostic looks for a change in MAP when the EGR valve is supposed to open. If it doesn't see a change (and it won't with the valve blocked) it sets the code. The diagnostic in the OBD-I's doesn't seem very sensitive, so 90% of the people get away without ever getting a code, but it can happen.
Or by "bypassed", do you mean you have had it programmed out of the PCM?

there is a small solenoid that controls the EGR valve which you are supposed to leave in place just so you know. without that then i believe the EGR code will always set off. I removed my EGR system and got the code a couple of times as well.. i eventually just turned it off with tunercat and never had a problem again.

If the EGR solenoid is faulty or missing, it sets DTC 27. That is not what he is getting.
He has DTC 32 = EGR circulation. If the valve isn't there, he runs the chance of getting this code.

Hmm ok...cause ive had the car for over 1.5 years, and its NEVER gone off once....im thinking its going off now that the opti is screwing up on me. The car was running reallly rough when it came on, and then i parked it and turned it off for 5 min.
Anyways in a week im going to replace the opti and fix the intake manifold leak, and then ill go from there.
Thanks for the responses guys, just as long as I dont really need to worry about anything ill be fine.
