If you are only getting the coated set for 280 bucks, I would pass. If you do decide to get them, you should at least strip off the old paint and use a good quality header paint and repaint them.

It's like the saying goes "you get what you pay for." I think Pacesetters are good headers, but I have Hookers and I'm definitely not disapointed with them. Mine are Jet Hot coated too, btw.

equal-length headers are vastly overrated

I kno this a somewhat old post but I'm new to the forums and want to contribute towards one of the few things I know about. Equal length headers only benefit a very small powerband, and headers w/ varying primaries should be desired. Here's a quote form one of David Vizard's books,
"Building a set of [equal length] headers to such precision is a waste of time for a race engine and totally ludicrous for a street engine... A good street motor can have a working RPM range as high as 6000 RPM. One way to spread that ... band is to use differing primary lengths."
