LT1 Pacesetter LTs vs. Hooker LTs

I have Hooker headers sitting in my room since It's winter and I was wondering if selling them and going to pacesetters would be a better bang for buck header?

I have hookers, and wish I would have went with pacesetter.... the number 1 primary always leaks on the hookers, and the pacesetter have slip fit collectors, which are easier to seal and more ground clearance...

The gains are going to be the same between the two. The Pacesetters may have an advantage in terms of clearance, but I wouldn't let that be the deciding factor in selling the Hooker set for the Pacesetters.

Well ontop of that I can sell the Hookers for 650 and buy the pacesetters for 280... and with that left over cash I can buy a clutch. I'm just wondering if the price difference = performance difference between the Pacesetter and Hooker headers.

Are those Pacesetter headers coated or non-coated for 280 bucks?

But equal length means that all the exhaust comes into the collector at the same time, whereas non equal length it goes in a sequence? Iunno what are the benefits of equal length headers?

Not only do the Pacesetters cost less... they come with the gaskets and bolts! They even have some wire in there to extend your O2s. I used the stuff that came with them and have 0 leaks. The y-pipe they sell is slip fit and cheap at around 120$. You cant beat long tube headers and offroad y pipe for the cost!

No equal lenghth just means that each primary is the same length as the other.....so one is not shorter than the other. It evens out each cylinder ......err im not sure how to explain it but ill let someone else take a hit at it

get what i mean ?? hahah im tired and its only 7 pm

but thats besides the point equal length headers will make more power in the long run than non equal length.

honesltly tho im not saying to buy or not buy them im just making u aware

Pacesetters are by far the best bang fot teh buck header tho

id say work with what u got.....put the hookers on. The install is slightly harder and u would prolly want to find a way to seal the #1 primary it may leak. (mine does)

IMO anything thats not coated is pretty much a waste unless ya dont care about looks or like installing headers on f-bodys :dunno:

Seems like equal length header kinda explains itself. All the primaries are going to be the same length. The forward primary will run straight back to the collectors and the rear primaries will bend forward and around before heading to the collector. It makes for a really weird looking header and I'm sure it'd be hard to make a set for Camaros that would leave any room to mess around under the hood.

Well I'm not worried about looks, Performance is my main goal behind any mod that I do. Equal length seems to be the best so I might just sell the Hookers and pick up some un-coated version of it for less, or pick up some pacesetters.... what would be the power difference between equal length and not equal length?

Not enough to tell a difference on a mild heads/cam car.

Most the pacesetters I've seen have rusted or lost their coating very quickly. I went with the Hookers for quality more than performance, although they should perform better, in theory.
