I have a 383 stroker kit with cams, Pace setter LTs, and a Pace setter y-pipe. The exhaust ends at the y-pipe. Right now the car is a little to loud and I would like to tone it down a little but still keep the nice rumble.

What exhaust setup should I go with? 1 or 2 mufflers?

Personally since you have the LT's I'd custom fab a true dual system. Jegs and Summitt both have universal kits, you'd have to dump your y-pipe of course though. Either that or I'd just get an SLP 20tl or the loudmouth.

I agree with the above, I would sell the y-pipe and use the money towards a true dual system. Both better gains and a better sound IMO.

What they said. If you have more than one cam, you need more than one muffler.

4" mufflex has my vote. Great power gain and awesome sound with spintech!

it really depends on what you want, this is personal preference

With a large engine and high flowing setup like you already have, I'd go with a Hooker catback. Flows well, should quiet it down for normal driving.

With a cammed 383, LT/no cat setup, stay away from the Loudmouth. Way too annoying and loud.

I love the way the BORLA XR-1 muffler sounds on my car. I bought a slp loudmouth and hated the LM resonator /muffler, because of the drone and old dump truck sound, and it was way too loud even with stock exhaust manifolds/cats- so I bought the BORLA XR-1 and put it on in place of the LM resonator-what a differance!! It has a deeper sound with no drone-sounds like a v8 should sound. I am getting pacesetters and y pipe next. I would just buy a cat back exhaust instead of true duals because with true duals you have to buy 2 mufflers-there are clearance issues-and the gains are minimal-a few HP. Just my opinion.
