How to stop leaking headers at flange?

I installed Pacesetter mids. The Y pipe to the headers was not a snug fit on the passenger side. I had to put the bolts on and torque them down to get it to seal. It looks pretty good but a have a ticking sound coming from that exact area. What i would like to know is there a simple way to seal it without having to go through much trouble? Its in no mans land as far as access so is there any snake oil or home made trick that will help? I used aluminum foil on the slip joints and it worked great but this it a flange.

Metal gasket, sealer on both sides. No simple solution that I can think of.

The Percy's dead-soft aluminum collector gaskets may help. Did you check the collector flanges to make sure they were flat? Or is sounds like you may have bent the flange by using the bolts to pull the poorly fitting connection together.

Percy's 66001 2-1/2'' Collector Gaskets JEGS. Made of a special ''dead soft'' aluminum, they conform to collector flanges allowing for an ultimate seal.

Well here is the auction on Ebay for only $26 shipped. Would be worth every penny if they fix my leak. They weren't that bad in lining up and the headers where they connect are very think and appear to be solid. I will give it a shot. Thanks, Fred

Glad to hear the aluminum foil trick worked for you.
