Hooker Longtube Install

I have my old headers off and have the car jacked up as high as my jack will go and then some, and i still can't get either of my hooker lontubes in. (Car is a 95 z28 m6). If i can get the front of the car high enough, is it possible to get both in from the bottom? I've heard that some people have had to unbolt the motor mounts and jack up the motor to get the passenger side in from the top, but i am not familiar with how to jack up the motor and would rather get the car high just put both in from the bottom. (help here is appreciated too)

This is as high as i can get the car right now.

If you guys have ANY links or write-ups on here or other forums of LT install, please pass them along. I need help haha.

Did you take the things out of the car like the starter and stuff?
Maybe this could help https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=600760

Usually your best bet is to remove the alternator, starter, temp sensor in driver side head (so it doesn't break), sometimes people remove valve covers I've heard too. It makes installation a breeze without all the the stuff in the way. Jacking the engine up isn't as hard as it sounds, also allows you to replace the engine mounts if desired.

As for your ordeal you should definetely do a search, and read-up heavily that way you'll be prepared a little more to tackle the job of adding LT's. It's pretty straight forward, just takes a good amount of time.

This is how I got my car in the air to change the tranny out and to
install the headers:

I have four wheel stands made out of wood - the jack stands are
merely for stabilizing the body - they dont contribute to holding the
car up. Anyway, that gets the car up about 18" to the belly pan. I was
able to very easily slip the headers up from underneath. Both sides
were easy, but to help, I removed the engine mount through-bolt on
each side and then jackrd the engine up about 1" or so, then slid the
header up into place.

Be sure to remove the plugs and the engine temp sensor on the
driver's side. Owners of headers other than Kooks report that the
steering shaft has to be removed - this might not be the case for
you. On the passenger side, I removed the starter - the alternator
was already out. You will also have to (most likely) remove the oil
dipstick tube - be sure you pull it *straight* out - if it gets bent
anywhere along the portion that lives inside the engine, you'll
probably have to get a new one - it has to be perfectly straight on
that portion of the tube.

That's about all I can think of at the moment.
