just installed the headers and i only had the y-pipe hooked up and it was running for five minutes it was loud but then it started making a weird popping noise? what do you guys think it is?

 

its probably backfiring out of the exhaust, if you finish it, it should stop doing that

 

my dumbass mixed 2 wires while doing the tune up, its solved. Could someone delete this thread.

I got something to say to you DUMBASS.

Nearly everybody that has ever touched the distributer or plug wires on a SBC or LT1 has crossed the wires up just like you did and most likely on more than one occasion.

It is easy to do and even happens to the pros. I have done it countless times and chased my tail for days due to 3 & 5 being mixed up. Felt like a major dumbass too.

Your thread and solution will help to assist those down the road who make the same easy mistake.
