Exhaust Manifold Gasket Fitment

Factory LT1 exhaust manifolds.
Felpro 1406 first image.
Remflex 2022 second image.

Why do the outboard bolt/stud holes not line up? Only the inboard 4 bolts go through the gasket?

I bought the remflex first because they crush up to 50% and seal a bit better than felpro. The fitment didn't line up with the outboard bolt holes on the manifold so I researched again and got felpro 1406 and same thing.

Correct sized gasket or do I need a different one for OEM manifolds?

Re: Exhaust Manifold Gasket Fitment

Seems like only the inboard 4 bolts pass through the gasket. Seems to be sealed up good. We'll go through a few thermal cycles and see how it holds up.

Damn, I didn't see the Remflex 2024s would extend out to the last holes. They've sealed up for now with no leaks. Worse case they end up leaking, I now can pull them off pretty easy if I have to now that I've done it once.

[edit] and they don't have to come all the way out just to replace gaskets.

A leak there will screw up the O2 sensors.

Yes, that's the reason why I pulled them to begin with - and ended up restoring the manifolds while I was at it. I ordered the 2024s. The 2022s aren't leaking, as of yet, but I'll be ready to R&R the gaskets if/when they do.

My hands are sore and don't wanna pull them back off today 🤣 I'm doing the ICM mod today.
