Exhaust manifold gasket?

Exhaust manifold gasket?
Hello LS1 guys! I'm an LT1 guy.
Just wondering if any of you with headers who re-use you OEM gaskets, ever use any silicone or sealant on them. This is off topic, but I am rebuilding the engine on a 91 Toyota 4Runner that has the layered steel kind of manifold gaskets that LS1s come with stock. Anyway, I'm being cheap. The best price I can find on these da** gaskets is nearly $50 A SIDE! But I've looked around and can't seem to find any sealant that could possibly withstand temps. like that. I'd just like to hear if any of you know of some stuff. I don't really want to slap them back togethe like they are. They are pretty old and their sealing quality is probably not the best.
Thanks,
Ryan

I'm not sure on this, so take it with a grain of salt, but I thought the silicone gasket sealants were color coded by temperature -- red, black etc, and they were rated to a certain temp. Not too sure though.

Well I remember hearing of some type of sealant that would actually work for manifold gaskets, but I can't remember which one or where to get it. I know that the Ultra copper stuff is high temp but only for like exhaust pipe gaskets where temps have cooled down a bit. Keep the responses coming! I need to hear from you guys with headers!
Thanks,
Ryan
