Cable Operated Cut Outs?

Sadly, I have to put a Catalytic Converter on my car to get it to pass emissions, so I'm thinking of throwing on an Exhaust Cut Out to get rid of those thing when I don't want them.

I found them decently priced electric ones on ebay, but I've heard cable operated ones are much cheaper, since I would rarely be using them anyway.

Anyone know where to find cable operated ones for a 3" Exhaust?

- Edit -

Looks like I'm just going to go with the manual ones.

I've looked some for the large diameter cable operated but only found the small 2 inch, probably like you did. It would take a cam locking mechanism to get the valve to stay closed tight enough and a robust mounting point for that part of it. I don't think anyone has been very successful designing it for a performance car.

Maybe you will be different but I don't like the sound of my car with the cutout much. It's rarely open and I almost never leave it that way. If there's any performance gain I don't notice it. I love the sound of my hooker catback and the cutout kills it.

As for putting the converter back on your car - it's a good thing for someone with one bad lung.

I noticed the cable design was alot cheaper, but I have no personal experience with how they perform and function. If you are rarely going to use the thing, then it might just make more sense to buy the 30 dollar cutout and get under their and open and close it yourself.
