best 4" muffler???

>so with the whole Mufflex exhaust which muffler do you all recommend?
I have the 3" Stinger II from Gail Banks and being told by my shop guys that I should go with a 4" setup.
Btw- I have Kooks 1 3/4 -1 7/8" headers, AFR 195cc heads, Vortech T-trim w/ FMIC lots of air, but out through the 3" exhaust.

I debated this myself.

I ended up doing a Mufflex 3.5" exhaust with the Engineermike recommended Magnaflow 12909 muffler. Problem with the 4" exhaust, assuming you don't want the Mufflex supplied Flowmaster or SpinTech, is that you'll have to go with a race style muffler. With all my searching seems the manufacturers make the 4" mufflers in a race style only. The race style mufflers aren't very long and don't do much for noise abatement. Unless, of course, noise isn't a problem for you. For me, I needed a more quiet exhaust and my setup is quieter than my old Borla.

>Joe,
I really want the 4" Mufflex exhaust and have been searching the Magnalow website to find one with the same size body with 1 in, 2 out, 3" tail pipes.
I wonder if they make special order and hopefully they are not going to cost an arm and leg.

Buddy of mine pushed 1,125HP through the Mufflex 4" with the Flowmaster. It wasn't particularly loud. Took the Mufflex completely off to save 50# of weight, and did not see any change in rwHP with the system removed, and replaced with a pair of Borla XR-1's bolted to the collectors.
