4th Gen Exhaust on 3rd Gen

Has anyone put a 4th gen exhaust system on a 3rd gen car. My '91 Z28 needs a new exhaust, and I have the stock system from my '98 Z28 that I coud use if it will work. I'm sure that I will have to do some modification from the manifolds to the y-pipe. Will this swap work?

No. Your 98 Z28 has the LS1 engine, which has a different exhaust port setup on the heads than a traditional SBC. So the primaries would not align correctly. Plus the header bolt design is different.

I will not be using the LS1 manifold, only the Y-pipe back.

go try it?
If you use the 3rd gen y-pipe, then all you will need to do is get it to connect to the 4th gen intermediate pipe assuming everything else will work (hangers, etc)

no it wont directly bolt on but if you got a little skill you can make it work, the pipe routing and muffler location are basically the same, youd need to figure out how to mate the I pipe with the Y pipe of the 3rd gen
