2 1/2'' or 3'' X-Pipe

Well I was thinking of getting an x pipe with dynomax bullet mufflers. But I am not sure to go with 2 1/2'' or 3'' pipeing. Mods in sig.

True dual 3" is good for something like 800 horsepower, so unless you plan on making a rediculous amount of power, I'd go with the 2.5. Thats what I did and I plan on lowering it later on.

If it was an LS1 I'd say 3" because they like to breathe easier than other engines. LT1 would be fine with 2.5"

i bought a 3" but it was only because it was a used exhaust and it was a good deal....truthfully i dont think it matters too much performance wise...but i'd stick with the 2.5 inch

brent - if u read the bottom of the LS1sounds.com true duals part
"pick exhaust size on clearance issues - not performance" or somethin like that
i have everything i need sitting at my house right now, i can get pics for ya or something. The 2 1/2" looks a lot bigger than it really is IMO.
also, do the math
2 1/2" duals = 9.8 sq. inches
3" cat-back = 7.0 sq. inches
3" duals = 14.13 sq. inches
i thin 3" is way overkill, jeff and AJ both said i would be fine w/ 2.5" on even a decently radical 383
