Will this 12 bolt fit my car?

This is what the ad says:

I have a 12 bolt rear end I pulled out of my 1974 Chevy Truck. Its still in good shape worked fine when I pulled it out just had wrong gear ratio for my application. I believe it has 4:11's or 4:56's I can pull off the cover if interested to check. The old brakes were pulled off of it but I still have all the parts that came off of it. It has a 8-7/8 ring gear and will fit 1973-1981 trucks. let me know if interested I will post pictures later.
$150 O.B.O

The price is right.
Will it fit a 96 Z28?

Thanks
Oliver

Mounting a 4th-Gen F-Body torque-arm on-to the center section will be an issue. Welding the spring, shock and LCA mounts on the housing tube will be the easy part. Also, the housing width may be an issue, have you measured it?

Anything is possible, and I know one person on the forums who did it.... narrowing, replacing, adding a posi, welding on the TA mount, all the brackets and brake mountings. After he was all done (and he did all the welding himself), he spent maybe $500 less than a new unit from Moser or Strange would have cost. But he said he would NEVER consider doing it again..... was not worth the effort.

Moving to "Drivertrain".........
