I never stated that both car fanatics and professional builders shouldn't provide their [honest] opinions in these forums - after all, that's what these forums are for - for the exchange of information.
And yes, there is nothing rwong [sic] with being honest. But there is a difference between being honest and being honest via caustic replies. No, it's not always like that, but enough that led me, personally, to look elsewhere.
You can discuss how much better your builds are than XXX builder (or worse, to individuals), without having to revert to personal jabs - you do that by discussing what benefits you bring to the table, not how XXXX builder doesnt do something as well. Attempting to make yourself look better by belittling others only makes you look bad.
You might think you've only lost my business, but there may be others lurking and not participating, for which you may (or might have) lost business to. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you don't do a great rebuild - I've seen many speak highly of your work. And that's not what this is about. It's about business practice and how you portray yourself to the public.
Here's a simple comparison. I ride bikes (my prized possession is a '99 turbo'd Hayabusa) and enjoy watching the bike-builder shows. I quit watching the one show (forget the name now), because all they did was bicker back-n-forth - it wasnt about building a bike anymore. (I know I know - the producers probably put them up to it). I watch the shows that stick to the program - building cars or motorcycles in a positive (or neutral) light. Which is what the forums should be about.

So, let me get this right. There are people foolish enough to choose a lesser builder because he's more "polically correct"? So, when you're lining up, and there's $1000 on the line, wouldn't you feel more confident with the best transmission, rather than one that was built by someone who was more PC?

Let me tell you a little something about Frank@CPT. He is a straight up guy, as long as I can afford to be in this"hobby" he will get all my trans work.
He is a passionate CAR GUY, if your buddy standing next to you told you not to buy a part because it failed on him....would you still do it?
Let me tell ya, Frank's your buddy. Make no mistake.
After more brain damage than ANYONE would care to take on with a trans, I sent it to him. It has come back and made 25 strip passes, all in the low 11's in a 3800lb car. I beat the living CRAP out of this trans on the street...fluid still looks and smells like the day I poured it in.
