when changing shift points what aim i looking for?

when changing shift points what aim i looking for? what should i look for when driving the car, how should it feel with 373 gears? iam not to sure how the car should feel? well today i changed my shift points to 1-2, +1 , 2-3, +1, 3-4, +3 and i drove the car and to me the shifts feel the same, i cant tell a difference when i changed the shift points, then i tried bumping the 1-2, to +2 and 2-3 to +2 after that it feels the same i cant tell the difference really, it seems to shift the same when i accelerate, when changing shif points can you feel the differance?

What does +1,+2,+3 represent? What are you using to do this? I am assumming it must be line pressure or mph. Either way, increasing line pressure by say 2 psi or increasing the shift point by 2 mph isn't going to make much difference. Need more info on what those numbers mean.
