wheel bearings

wheel bearings

my car squeaks when i drive it so im starting with the wheel bearings and i was told there was two bearings per wheel is this true?

Well depends....are they the front wheel bearings?? If so, then they are sealed and you cant even mess with the bearings!! You have to change out your whole hub....Its not that hard but its not that cheap either. I just had to do that....how is your tire wear, uneven?? Does it pull one way??

I's suggest you look at your brakes first for the source for squeeling. Wheels bearings are checked by the amount of play in the wheel when the front wheels are jacked up off the ground. Grab the tire at the 3&9 position and rock back and forth feeling for play. Do the same thing at the 12&6 position.

no im doing rear wheel bearing james and thanks for the info obe1

but i am still unsure if the are two bearing per wheel anybody know

also i cant figure out how to even get to the bearing........i took off the caliper and undid the bolts on the back side but it still wont budge someone know anything about this?
