I have a 95 project car I am working on and I was thinkning of going with an automatic instead of the m6 the car came with.
I know I need 4l60e tranny
a4 cross member
pcm flashed for a4
radiator for a4

What else do I need?

may need a shorter driveshaft, flywheel/flexplate for a4, and a shifter& console trim for auto. what are you gonna do with the t-56?

 

1 - Post only engine-specific topics on "LT1/LT4 Engine Tech". This belongs on "Drivetrain"..... I'll move it there for you.

2 - Try the "search".... this has been covered several times on the Drivetrain forum.

3 - A4 and M6 use the same driveshaft.

 

I always try the search first but I never seem to get exactly what I want. Anyhow thanks for moving it.
The car didn't have a motor in it when I bought it and the new motor I bought already has the a4 flywheel/flexplate.

The tranny I have was rebulit 5000 miles ago with the viper upgrades and I was thinking about selling all the 6 speed stuff and throwing in an a4 so my wife won't whine that she can't drive it. I figure might as well figure out what I want to do before I throw the engine and tranny back in.

 

Is there a website or something that gives all the directions and such to switching over an m6 to a4? This car is really the only car I have personally dug into.

I now know the parts I need but what else is invloved?

 

well.. first you give me all your m6 stuff... then i give you all my a4 stuff... then install.. and both partys part happy

going from m6 to a4 is pretty ease... but you will need to do something with the pcm/harness for the auto. besides that... no big deal.

 

Just finished a m6 -a4 swap, So I have all the parts if you need them. I would say get an A4 harness just to make your wiring life much easier
