What type of clutch for 500rwhp

New Aftercooled T trim setup needs a good clutch. The car is a 355 and makes 15psi.

The car will actually rip the tires off the rim at anything more than 70% throttle in second gear doing about 45mph so its got plenty of power.

I want something really driveable as this thing doesn't seem much track duty.

After reading about the chattering problems with Spec Stage 3 clutches, I got a stage 3 hybrid. It's ceramic on one side of the disk and kevlar on the other. Even brand new, there was no chatter. It takes up easily and grips hard. I honestly don't know if your 500 rw is too much though. You can always spend more on a Street Twin. That will hold.

The car will "rip the tires off the rim"? You mean wheelspin, I hope! Anyway, the McLeod Street Twin is clearly the best street or street/strip clutch for a hi-po 4th gen.

Why not a Spec Stage IV? It is a very grabby clutch and you might lose a little bit of driveability but it will definetely support your power. Street Twin would be the next choice, but that clutch is heavier and twice more expensive.

Save yourself the aggravation of doing it twice & get the street twin.

I have a big list of broken driveline parts (broken rearend, 2 broken torque arms, bent stock lower control arms & twisted driveshaft, input & output shafts) but the street twin has not given me problems. I watched many guys put the trick of the week, ceramic, kevlar etc. clutches in high powered cars & they have problems.

The Valeo style pressure plate is the major limiting factor & all use this style or a slightly modified version.

I personally will not use a single disk pull type clutch in any vehicle over 500 flywheel HP.
