What stall to get? (rpm)
I need a new trans and im going to www.ls1speed.com to buy it and they are installing it. I'm gonna get the stage 2 with vigalente stall, but which rpm would be good for me? i think they are 28-30, 30-32, and 32-3400rpm. Is there anything else i should get done while the trans is there? thanks
The stall basically depends on how much street driving you do, and your tolerance for high rpm takeoffs. I would presonally go with 2800-3000, but that's just me. Not sure what you mean by stage 2, but I'd get a shift kit such as B&M or Transgo with your new tranny if that's not what you were talking about.
yes, the transmission comes with a shift kit. thank you for your reply, i am still unsure of this hi rpm thing before take off on these stalls, can someone break it down, i am terribly sorry for the ignorance.
whats the difference in a 2800 and a 3200? is it a big one? will either help me more at the track, or hurt me street driving. i am pretty much done with my mods so i say, except for hedders in july 2004.

2,800 works well in a basically stock car. Will be quite tolerable for day to day driving, but will definitely launch harder with sticky tires on a good surface. On the street, it will have more tendency to spin when moving from a dead stop.
