Okay well i have a real annoying whining coming from my rear end, and when i took a closer look on the inside, the gear is missing a tooth. So after checking it over with my mechanic, ive decided to replace it with a up grade. So any info on gear ratios would be great. Anyone with 373 or 410 or whatever, id like to hear about your gas milage, rpms, shifts and preformance. Thank you. Danny

 

what kind of tranny do u have. If its a manual i would go with 4.10's, auto 3.73's.

 

What kind of gears should i get for a stock lt1. I need to replace it cause theres a broken tooth that makes a very annoying whine. So rpm, acceleration, mpg info on an gear ratios anyone has will be very appreciatied. Thanks danny

Go with the 4.10's then. Gas mileage isn't too bad with those because of the ability to use the 6th gear more often. You will also notice a BIG SOTP feeling over stock gears.

 

"gears" questions do not belong on "LT1/LT4 Engine Tech". Also not a good idea to post the same question in multiple forums. Since you already have this question in "Drivetrain" where it belongs, I'll merge this thread with that one.

 

I've got 4.10's for my car and it's an A4. Mileage dropped a little, but the way I seem to drive, I can't get good mileage even with 2.73's, so I really don't care much about that! The 4.10's snap you back pretty good off the line!
