What gear oil & LSD Additive should I use??
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I recently broke my rear end and ate a lot of metal up and had to totaly rebuild my rear end including axel bearings. That is expensive. Labor kills. The joker who put the gears in last time must have been the oil change guy. That explaines the F1 racecar whine I've had for the last year and a half. I was told it was because of "Junk Richmond Gears". Anyway, now after 600$ later the gears no longer whine.
After the break-in period I plan on changing the gear oil to syn. and I was wondering about suggestions. It's still the original 7.5 10 bolt, with Auburn Limited slip. I really wanted to go 12 bolt but had to go for the half price 10 bolt rebuild. Any suggestions on gear oil and additives??

Just wondering if I could chime in here for a little info.
Never done any rear end work.
Is it easy to drain/add fluid? Is it a good idea to change it every now and then, because I have never messed with mine, but my friend Bill thinks the gears are getting worn (well they probably are with 135k on them).
Anyway, so should I try and change the oil? And what weight (and brand) should I use? 80w90 Castrol any good?
