what are the diffrences
Re: what are the diffrences
I thought the corvettes had the 4L65E, which is like comparing our T-56 to the Viper T-56. Not exactly, but you get the picture. I know that FLP transmissions' stage 5 tranny is a 4L65E, not a 4L60E like stage 1-4.
Re: what are the diffrences
The C5 used the 4L60E, but it looks nothing like the one used in the F-Body, since its mounted in the rear of the car, bolted to the differential housing, and has a big long "torque tube" that connects the back of the engine to the tranny in the rear "transaxle" setup.
The 4L65E is dimensionally identical to the 4L60E, and can be interchanged. The differences relate to the internal parts, in an effort to beef up some of the weak areas of the 4L60E.
