4:10 or 4:11
is their a diffrence between 4:10 and 4:11 because i was told their was but i am having a hard time finding 4:11. if their is a diffrence what is it whats better and where can i find them?
A 4.11:1 is a gear ratio achieved with a 37-tooth ring gear on a 9-tooth pinion gear.
A 4.10:1 is a gear ratio achieved with a 41-tooth ring gear on a 10-tooth pinion.
In general, the 4.11's are "pro gears".... heavier duty. Typically used in a 9-inch rear, but also available for GM 12-bolt and the Dana 60. Not sure if I've ever seen one for a 10-bolt.
In terms of performance.... torque multplication at the rear wheels.... there is really no measurable difference between a 4.10:1 and a 4.11:1
