Hey Creative how are the street manners of the 6 puck, your setup is very similar to mine, my car is a dd with occasional test in tune nights at the track. I also plan on running up to a 200 shot.

Just thought I'd add that I'm using the SLP PP with a Spec Stage 4 disc and stock flywheel. Mine is a weekend car, I used to hit the track with it a lot. This is a very streetable clutch to me though, no chatter but it is fairly on/off when it grabs. It's held up fine for 50 or so hard launches on DR's, launching at 4-5k.

Were you able to only purchase the SPEC 4 disc (as in, w/o the pressure plate)? If so, where and how much?
Thanks,
DAve

Cool

It's been 5 years since I bought the disc, bought it direct from spec. they did hesitate to sell me just the disc but they did anyway. It was around $175 or so I believe. Slp gave me a hard time about just buying just their pp too, but they did sell it.

Just bought a Duralast Clutch kit new for 169.99 at auto zone not a Valeo PP but it does look to have been balanced.

Also another note on Autozone. There are two of the stores within 10 min or my house i called one on the clutch and they said they didnt have it and gave me a price of 159.99 and sent me to the other one where they did have it. Got there picked it up and they scanned it for 219.99!?! i was like wait the other autozone in town has it for 159.99, and they couldn't price match it completely because it wasn't in stock what's up with that??? But i got it out of there for 169 plus tax .

I used to work for AutoZone. It pays to shop prices at the different stores. Within a small area, like you described, you'll sometimes find big price differences. I never understood why it was so but I check various stores close to me to find the best price. Also if you're military, law enforcement, or fire there was, at our store, a 10% price discount just for asking and showing proof.

Has anyone used or heard of Kennedy Engineered Products (KEP)? A buddy of mine in So-Cal Builds Offroad trucks and buggies with LT1/ T-56 combos and told me to buy one of these clutches. Its a 6 pad ceramic clutch and they sell for $95. This company has been around for 40 plus years and have been making clutches for volkswagens and started making clutches for the LT1's. I recently blew up my Napa clutch and am considering this disc with the autozone pressure plate. Any info would be appreciated. Heres the link http://www.kennedyeng.com/

Wheee first post!

I recently bought a t56 to swap into my SBC V8 Volvo wagon and came across this thread searching for Lt1/Lt4 PP differences. This is a great thread with lotsa answers so I thought I'd add what I'd found elsewhere to the list.

I came across another article recently on an Impala SS site that had some interesting info on Clutchnet LT4 pressure plates.

Cliffnotes are this guy went to Clutchnet and found out they apparently take apart a Valeo one and swap different clutch fingers in with a higher angle. He was invited to bring any pressure plate in and they'd test it to show the difference. I think there's photos there of the difference but you need to register to see 'em.

I'm on a shoestring this time around so I'll be reusing my LT4 PP and just getting a cheapo Clutchnet disc (No worries as my SBC is sub-300hp currently) but I think I'll try a Clutchnet PP next time around.

Mark.
