Gee, just have around $2500 + labor and you can have a 12-bolt like everyone else.

Re: want a 12 bolt

You have two choices.... Strange or Moser. The Moser tends to be a little less expensive, but requires "some assembly". The Strange is fully assembled and takes 1 to 2 hours to install.

I've had excellent results with the Strange.

It's also possible to fab up a 12-bolt out of an old GM rear, but designing and fabricating the torque arm mount requires a bit of talent. I can give you a link to someone who's done it, it you are interested in going that way. He figures he saved about $500, but isn't sure if he would recommend doing it.

Of course we're assuming you need a torque arm mount..... but you didn't tell us even what year your car is. Might want to add that sort of info to a "signature", so people can accurately answer your questions

Do a "search"..... the two setups have been compared and discussed in several threads.

Also forgot to add the cost & labor to paint that 12-Bolt. Its shipped bare metal and you will need to add brakes also. As the cost continues to climb.

Re: want a 12 bolt

With the Strange, there is no ocost at all related to the brakes, its a direct swap over. If you have the parts from an LT1, you will be fine.

Both Strange and Moser offer the top-mounted sensor for the 3-channel ABS at extra cost. Strange uses a sensor design of their own, and it is a PITA. Hard to adjust clearance to the reluctor ring, and the life of the sensor seems to be limited.

You are looking at $2,300-$2,700 depending on what options you buy. For anything under 500HP, the standard posi will be fine. Over 500HP, you'll want to upgrade it. The Strange tends to be more expensive, because it comes fully assembled, with lube and run-in on a dyno at the factory. They include as standard (no extra cost, at least when I bought mine in 1999) 1350 pinion yoke, cross-over u-joint of your choice, c-clip eliminators, 33-spline axle and aluminum cover plate with pre-load bolts. I think most of those are "extra cost" on the Moser.
