V6 Rear

What are the specs on the stock rear for the 95 3.4? When I'm done with my LT1, I want to give it a decent rear to go along with it. Would it be best to swap out the whole axle or could I get away with some surgery?

Besides the gear ratio's, I'm not totally sure but I BELIEVE the rear on a V6 and V8 are the same...

Re: V6 Rear

Dimensionally, they are the same, BUT>>>>

The base V6 rear had an open differential (V8 rear had limited slip as "standard") and drum brakes (V8 rear had disc brakes "standard").

TCS (4-channel) was available as an option on the V8, but not on the V6.

I think it would be a good idea to find a complete V8 rear just to have the posi and the disc brakes, it your V6 car didn't include them as "options".
