I am posting this for a friend of mine, so I do not know all of the gory details. Back story: he just bought a 70 corvette with a new 350 crate engine. He was out tuning the carb and noticed a huge bog right out of idle. After some tuning to no avail he realized it might be something else. When he manually shifts it into first he has first gear. Otherwise when it is in drive it starts off in second gear and then wants to downshift when he gets on it. I have not heard of anything like this, so I am looking for suggestions to what the problem is. It has a turbo 350 (I think the original) with three speeds. Thanks,
