Whats the problem w/ my times????
I dont have a z, but I ahve a 1982 s10 prostreet w/ 406, TCI turbo 350 trans., frame is narrowed 4 inches on each side like a 4 link, 4:11 gears, 670 cfm holley, w/ 28x12.5x15 sportsmans. I ran a 13.98 best w/ a 8.921 1/8 and .622 react, next run was a 14.007 w/ a 8.954 1/8 and .508 react, worst of day was a 14.115 w/a 9.051 1/8, and .932 react???? How much do you think slics will help, can go to a 15" wide on rear. Let me know of any tips or tricks.

That being the case, I don't see much wrong with your time. Hi 13s on a Stock Motor....
Start with the small stuff, a Dual Plane Intake, maybe a nice (Not too big!!) Cam, Headers, and a good torque Converter. When you're ready to gets serious, find a set opf nice ported heads, a larger cam, and a larger carb and go from there.
