transmission problem maybe??
transmission problem maybe??
when Im driving on the highway around 55-70 and I take my foot off the gas, It feels like its engine braking, i guess that would be the term? I used to be able to coast for a long time, but now I lose mph alot faster than I used too. It used to do this once here and there as of late last year, now it seems to do it always. Rebuild in my future? well most like an M6 swap if it doesnt give up too soon on me.
when you take your foot off the gas on the highway, you could try manually shifting into 3rd. if you feel no change, then you were already in 3rd.
(of course, i don't own an auto tranny, and i'm assuming that on these cars, you can manually shift down into 3rd)
EDIT: OBE1, you've been on this board a LONG time!!

The lockup clutch may not be disengaging which will cause more of a braking effect when you let of the throttle , This is likley since it was intermittant ,
I would have it scanned and see if the clutch is unlocking it should unlock at 0 throttle coasting ,Possible causes would be a bad TPS not letting the ecm know that that it was coasting

It shifts thru all the gears, counted them, 1 to 4, normal throttle up to 65. It didnt act up the last couple days, but I know the problem will return as it always does. What do you all think?
