transmission hp max?

i was originally planning a nitrous shot of 300 wet but im looking at more realistically a 200 wet shot, i have then mods listed at the bottom and im planning on putting on jet hot long tubes, OR y pipe, and a moroso CAI. my question is with my current mods, the mods im planning on and a 200 wet shot how much power can my transmission hold before it breaks? because i dont really want to buy a brand new tranny.

without a real bottom end you won't need to worry about your tranny going out, you block is gonna gernade first.

now to answer you, some trannies give out in the mid 12's range but a buddy of mine has a stock 98 tranny in his forged bottom end motor with a 200 shot on it. just get a shift kit and a big ole tranny cooler. don't do a bunch of burnouts and don't sit at the light doin your breaktorque forever.

Your T-56 will be just fine. I'd believe you could go well into the 11s without touching it before it needs to be upgraded. LT1 T-56s are strong transmissions.

your t-56 is one of the strongest trannies out there...... ppl are WELL into the 10's on the stocker. you will be replacing your rear end within the first month of the jug though..... if you have stickier tires. about the only higher strength item you will need is the viper input shaft and forks.

good luck and happy racing!

I was running mid-10's in a 4,100lb combo with the stock T56 and no problems.

I second that!

I would never EVER in my life think about spraying a 300 shot on a stock bottom end. Heck a 200 is more then pushing it. And even then you have to upgrade alot of things, i.e fuel pump etc.

I have a new forged 383 shortblock going in and even then i'm only going to spray 150-200...

Before you spray, think about if you are able to afford a engine rebuild , just in case. A lot of people use n20 as a cheap way to get fast really quick. Cost wise, n20 is the cheapest per hp. But after you blow your motor, it wont look so cheap after all you know?

good luck
