Re: Transmission cooler?

If you or the previous owner didn't put one on, then no it wouldn't. Look in front of the radiator (towards the nose), it would probably be in that area.

Re: Transmission cooler?

It'll have a factory tranny cooler (built internal to the radiator) but may not have an aftermarket one. Here are some pics of an aftermarket tranny cooler...

Re: Transmission cooler?

Is it any good. If i wanted to do a shift kit and maybe a stall would this stock cooler support it.

Re: Transmission cooler?

If you do a stall do an aftermarket cooler - cheap and easy to install. Some manufacturers say you don't absolutely need one, but like I said they're cheap, and will help keeps the temps down.

Re: Transmission cooler?

Would a tranny cooler help an M6 all that much??? I have noticed that pretty much everyone who talks about them has an auto and I was just wondering because it seems like it would.

Re: Transmission cooler?

Will a cooler double the life of my tranny? How much are they usually?

Re: Transmission cooler?

A manual tranny doesn't generate near the heat of an automatic. And it has no pump to circulate fluid. So, a cooler isn't needed and an entirely different setup would be needed. There are manual transmissions which require external cooling (road racing, maybe others) and I believe these use some sort of external pump, sort of like a "dry sump" engine oiling system.
