Transbrake wiring question.

I recently purchased a Rossler TH400 with reverse manual valve body, transbrake and such.
First time ever with a transbrake and I was thinkin about leaving it unhooked for awhile but I have read you have to engage the transbrake to shift into reverse.
Will I have to go ahead and wire up the transbrake just to drive the car?
Any pointers and advice with such a setup would be helpful as well. I bought the tranny because I wanted something bulletproof but I need to learn how to work all gizmos and gadgets.
Thanks.

Re: Transbrake wiring question.

you dont have to wire up the t/brake just to drive the car. your trans will work without it. what you read about is that when it is hooked up, from nuetral you can push the t/brake button and it will automatically go in reverse. I hope you have alot of nice parts in your car. cause the brake is very hard on parts. and once you use it, you will love it.

Re: Transbrake wiring question.

Depends on the type of transbrake. Most of the "pro tree" type transbrakes do require the t-brake being applied to shift into reverse. Most "regular" brakes do not.

Well this has the Rosslock transbrake in it so I guess I will call Rossler and ask him if he remembers this tranny.
I still have a stock 10 bolt in the car so thats one of the reasons I did not want the temptation.

My old tranny!!!

You don't have to engage the transbrake to put the tranny in reverse.

You also don't have to wire it up until you want to use it. All you have to do to wire it up is supply 12volts to a buttona and run from the button to the other wire on the trans brake solenoid. The other wire is already grounded to the tranny.

Later,
Craig
