Since a nice M6 is so hard to find these days at a decent price... and all I see are A4's... how much of a pain would it be to buy an A4 and drop a M6 in there? Assuming I paid for labor and parts, etc... You think its worth the cash?

How much would that be worth?

 

I don't know about the labor but my guess on parts would be

Tranny used about 600
rebuilt another 600
flywheel 150
good clutch 500
crossmember 15.00
shifter 150.00

 

the tranys are the same you would need to get a new crossmember, (flex plates) are cheap for them.you are switching to the automatic right? go to a junk yard and price one because you will pry pay alot on ebay, but putting them in is nothing.

well i have an a4 and im changing to an m6. i bought all of my parts new from gm except the tranny. i bought the tranny new from some where else. all the parts total about 3800. im having someone change it for me for 800. so it is going to be 4600 total. but if you buy all used parts then it would be cheaper. (also, i bought things like a spec stage 2 clutch, pro 5.0 shifter..etc..).

Nah, I want to go from A4 to M6... So about 5k eh? I guess if I find a nice one, regardless of it. I can buy it, then just save the cash and swap it to a M6? Or you think I should be patient and just wait for the M6... I've been waiting 6 months already for a good one.

 

why dont you keep the 4l60E its stronger then the M6?
