tranny probs need some advice Quick???
ok...i have had my tranny build 3 times which was under waranty the whole time but i can drive it for a month then it will shift throuh the gears right and then its like i hit neutral and 1-2 is al it has from there i took it back to the shop and he said a performance valve body , bands and 3-4 clutches so im guessin my tranny wont take the power my motor has but the funny thing is that my car is stock and i was wondering if anyone knows what the best high performance parts listed above i should get or if any more things i need please list or what i should do to prevent it i am looking at tci parts but are they worth anything or am i just wasting my time ??????
Re: tranny probs need some advice Quick???
1)This post should be in the drivetrain forum....
2)PLEASE try to add some sort of puntcuation or form to your post so we can read it easier.
3)Give us info! What year car? Auto trans I assume?
4)Sound to me like the shop you are using does not know what they are doing. Many places can rebuild a trans to stock levels with no problems.

Performance parts are almost always better, but just because you by something from a dealer that also sells performance items doesn't mean you are going to get the upgraded parts unless you specifically ask for them. And you just can’t buy some performance parts and expect the whole setup to work well together, it's like upgrading the cam to a large performance cam (like an LT1 w/ a cc306) and not touching the valve springs, it won't work well for long because it’s all about the right combination of parts…
OH just so you know, Art Car doesn't manufacture any of the clutches themselves; they use other manufacturers just like any other builder. The items you are buying from them could be bought anywhere, you are just paying more be cause the invoice says Art Carr…
*** EDIT ***
sir dyno - just so you know I was not directing this all to you, I just started with a quote of your last message to help prove my point, because you pretty much said the same thing.
