Tranny problems in a 94 z28

I have just recently bought a 94 z28. It runs hard and is alot of fun. But i dont know if something is wrong with the tranny or whats going on. It shifts really hard into second and running it through the quarter mile I have to let out of the throttle before it will shift. If someone could help me it would be greatly appreciated

Fix to the problem could be as simple as flushing the fluid and putting a new filter in. Or the TV cable needs adjusted.

Do a search for "WOT shift" on here.

(WOT= wide open throttle)

94s don't have a TV cable.

OP, it is hard to know what modifications might have been done to the transmission or programming since it is used. You might also scan for any transmission trouble codes. They don't normally light the check engine lamp.

What condition is the fluid in? This could be a sign of the 2-4 band going.

The fluid dont look bad. It doesnt smell burnt or anything. Under a load with the cruise set like going up a good sized hill or something it will vibrate pretty bad too..im going to flush the fluid and change the filter and see what that does..I would like to just have it professionally re-done so that it could take 600hp but thats not in the budget right now

The converter won't cause the problem you explained in your initial post.
