4L60e vibration

Okay I have a 97 z28, with a possible transmission vibration. I know its not the rear end or driveshaft because it vibrates in park within the 2000-2700 rpm range. After that it smooths out. It is a lot worse when i let of the gas though. First thing I did was take poly trans mount off and supported the tranny with a jack and held a little pressure on the transmission. The vibration was significantly less and was only in the 2000-2400 rpm range. There is also a VERY slight ticking noise coming from around the torque converter area. So what do yall think? Is the vibration coming from the transmission or the engine area. It seems like if it was a motor mount or something like that it would vibrate a lot less then it does and not just as those certain rpms. The engine also doesnt "jump" when i put it in gear, so i'm doubtful its motor mounts. Thanks in advance! -Kyle

Re: 4L60e vibration

Kyle, Have you checked your torque converter bolts? It may have also threw a weight off the converter. The flexplate could be cracked, which will also explain the ticking noise. Poly transmission mounts will cause a nasty vibration. Is it an Energy Suspensions mount? If so, try leaving the steel spacer out. That helps quite a bit...

Re: 4L60e vibration

Well i pulled the transmission yesterday and it wasnt the converter bolts, they took a good amount of strength to get off lol and it is an energy suspension mount. Havent looked at anything else, its still sitting on the transmission jack. Thanks for the reply!
