Need Help with Choosing Torque Converter

I'm looking at the yank stealth 2800 torque converter. I don't plan on getting the hotcam for at least a couple of months. Can the stock tranny handle this bad boy? Will this mod make a noticable upgrade in power by itself? is ther any ticcy tac stuff that i need to do before i install this (trans cooler)?

Re: Torque Converter Question

Get a tranny cooler for sure, the bigger the better. I bought one off thunder, the 24k gvu one for like 50 bucks, its the one most people use, and it does the trick Thats really all you need. While your working on it tho, you might as well change your tranny filter and pan gasket, never hurts.

Re: Torque Converter Question

Transmission cooler is a must. Most, if not everyone does a shift kit when installing a converter also.

Re: Torque Converter Question

A shift kit and cooler is a very good idea as said above. I would get the trans go and set it up for the full race setup. When you do your cam and have it tuned, make sure they up your line pressure. A transmission temp guage is also a good idea. That is about it, you will love the difference a converter makes.

Re: Torque Converter Question

Converter = "Drivetrain"

Converter does not equal "LT1/LT4 Engine Tech"

Moving......
